Amir is a trial lawyer handling motor vehicle claims and civil litigation. He has won several important cases on behalf of his clients, and has experience pleading in B.C. Supreme Court, as well as in the Court of Appeal. Whether dealing with personal injury claims or complex civil cases, he represents his clients diligently.

Education and Background

Of Indian descent, Amir was born in Tanzania. He grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and lived in England before moving to Canada in 1976. Throughout his travels, he learned to speak fluent English, Gujarati, Hindi, Swahili and Khutchi. His cosmopolitan background gives him a deep understanding of human nature and enables him to serve people from many different cultures.

Amir studied law in London, England, at Lincoln's Inn. Prominent figures such as Mahatma Ghandhi and Mohammedali Jinnah also graduated from this institution. Called to the bar in 1981 in B.C., Amir is a partner with Beck, Robinson & Company in Surrey. He now lives in Coquitlam, B.C.

Public Speaking and Writing

Even before he became a lawyer, Amir relished public speaking. He honed his skills addressing audiences in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania through the Muslim Youth League. He also writes for leisure and has published poetry and articles of general interest.
